If Gideon Had Distributed Bandoliers Instead of Trumpets

Gideon of Manasseh was a man of great faith and conviction. He didn’t need to see Lucifer thrown from Heaven; he saw his spirit reflected in the defeated king’s gold he melted into the ephod. But victory by intimidation alone wasn’t absolute -- nor was his contentment as he left the Israelites leaderless; they chose their idol over God. Oh, that they could have flowed the blood of the Midianites into the streets! Then, they could have witnessed the consequence of the faithless. And so Gideon recognized that to defeat the devil, he would no longer be able to elude him.
